I didn't want to spend thousands on the process, and at the beginning, I wasn't even sure I qualified.
So I decided to go the DIY route.
And after doing a LOT of research, and putting in an enormous amount of time and effort, I hit a dead end, and thought my dream of becoming an Italian citizen was over.

There was SO much to learn and figure out and straight-forward answers weren't always easy to find.

You will have the ability to travel, live, and stay as long as you want in Italy, as well as any of the 27 European Union (EU) countries. Americans are currently limited to staying for a maximum of 90 days in any 6-month period in the EU.
Employment & Business Ownership
You open yourself up to employment options in 27 more countries, as you are free to live and work in any EU country. Entrepreneurs can also more easily start and run businesses in Europe with Italian citizenship.
Real Estate
Italian dual citizens can take advantage of special programs and tax benefits only available to citizens when buying property in Italy. Plus, obtaining financing can be much easier for an Italian citizen.
Healthcare
As a dual citizen, you become eligible to apply for the Tessera Sanitaria (Italian National Healthcare Card) which entitles you to receive free or very low cost healthcare in Italy and the EU.
Education
You and/or your children can attend University in Europe. Many European universities are free or extremely low cost. And, many universities in Europe offer degree programs taught entirely in English.
Passes to Future Generations
When you become an Italian Dual Citizen, any of your minor children become dual citizens as well. Adult children can apply and obtain dual citizenship. And, your children can pass dual citizenship on to their children in perpetuity. Spouses can also apply for dual citizenship by marriage.
